SuperStream is an electronic data process for employees making superannuation contributions to their employees.
Small businesses (less than $2mil turnover and/or less than 20 employees) are required to comply with Superstream regulations as of 28 October 2016. All other businesses have been using Superstream since 30 June 2016 or earlier.
Being Superstream compliant is important. You can do this by:
- Using compliant software:
Check out the link below to ensure your software is Superstream compliant.
- Using the ATO super clearing house:
This is available to small businesses (less than $2mil turnover and/or less than 20 employees).
More information can be found at:
- Using an alternative super clearing house:
This is available to all businesses and normally incurs fees and charges associated with the service. For suggestions on what clearing house you should use, contact your Account Manager.
Important Note: Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF’s) are not exempt from Superstream. All employer contributions to SMSF’s must be processed through Superstream. Each SMSF requires an Electronic Service Address (ESA) to be compatible. Please contact your Account Manager to confirm your funds ESA.
